I didn’t think I would get this far….but I stayed dedicated and disciplined…. what am I talking about you ask? Well, I’m talking about my journey to losing weight and feeling great!
I weighed 191 lbs…yes I did. I didn’t like the way I looked and I didn’t like the way I felt. Not only did my clothes not fit right, but my health was in jeopardy. My blood pressure was through the roof, my joints were hurting, and I was considered obese for my age. I needed to make a change some kind of way. I did some research on different gyms in the Lafayette area, but this one gym kept coming up in conversations with different people.
So, on October 7, 2019, I took a chance. I decided to visit RevFit and see what it was about. I had a sincere welcome from the front desk. I then met with Sandra, my trainer. I must admit, I was nervous, but the rapport I had with her made me feel comfortable. She answered all of my questions without hesitation. I got a meal plan and a workout schedule and the rest is history. I became a part of a workout family that I thank God for everyday.
“Keep pushing,” they said….”Don’t give up,” they said….”Hang in there,” they said….”Keep fighting,” they said….”Stay strong,” they said….”You can do it, they said…”Never give up,” they said…and “GO! GO! GO!”Sandra screamed…. because of them, I ran my first 5k race and didn’t even stop!!
Since then with much dedication, discipline, and the support of my RevFit family, I now weigh 145 lbs and have been maintaining for the last 5 months. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2001. I now have been off my medication for the past 4 months!!!
As of today, I have lost a total of 50 lbs and 57 inches. It got hard at times, but with the support of my trainer, Sandra, and my workout family, I was able to persevere.
This month on the 7th, chapter 47 of my life begins. I have set a few more goals for myself. I am not done yet. My only hope is to always be an inspiration to others.
To my RevFit family:
I will always strive to be the best because of you! I am so thankful for your commitment and willingness to help me grow. Your motivation, encouragement, and support constantly inspire me. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me! You’ve helped me in ways you can’t even imagine!
Special shout-out to my trainer Sandra! You are the bomb! Thanks for pushing me and helping me gain the confidence I didn’t even know I had!
The one thing I have taken from all of this is that it is all about DETERMINATION, ACCOUNTABILITY, and how BAD you want it.
I love my RevFit family!

Here is Stephanie’s story in her own words:
Hi, I’m Stephanie Gaudet. I am a wife and mother of two. I have found a love and passion for fitness and helping others. Just like everyone, fitness, health, and eating healthy were not always easy. In 2015, I started my fitness and weight loss journey with Crystal at Crystalized Fitness. Prior to that I would always start something and lose around 20lbs then get frustrated or disinterested and would give up and gain what I had lost back. I’ve tried everything under the sun to lose weight but could not get how to do it the correct way. I always wanted an easy fix. It wasn’t until one night in February of 2015 before I started my journey is when I woke up from a dead sleep crying because I was miserable in my own skin. Didn’t think I was worthy. Fast forward to today, I have lost over 40lbs and 50 inches and now have learned how to maintain. It’s the process and the journey itself that I have fallen in love with and being able to give back the same. I love to encourage and motivate those around me. Teaching everyone that fitness and being healthy can be fun and so rewarding. Even if we have certain goals and we reach them. We always set new ones. Always dream big and most importantly learn to live and love your body.

After years of struggling to break the cycle of gaining and losing weight only for it to return within a year or so, I had reached a breaking point. The day that I walked into RevFit Gym, (July 2019) I was ready for a serious change and was done with feeling unhealthy, uninspired, and perpetually fatigued.

After touring several gyms in my area and finding no motivation to join them, I decided to search the Lafayette area. I immediately knew that there was something special and completely different about RevFit. I received a warm and sincere greeting from a front desk staff member and quickly realized that the same warmth, sincerity, and humility was visible in every staff and gym member I encountered. This welcoming, family-like environment is what sets this gym apart from all others and has helped me to reach my goals and has inspired me to maintain them.
I joined Sandra’s 6 month bootcamp program and never looked back. Under her skillful training, I met my weight loss goal of 40 pounds within the first 4 months. I became stronger and experienced running my first 5k (which was one of my personal goals). I eventually switched over to her maintenance program for 3 more months in which I lost an additional 10 pounds shortly after the pandemic shut down the gym. However, Sandra’s commitment was unwavering and she continued to train her clients virtually. The encouragement, discipline, and accountability she instilled in me will forever have a lasting effect on my health and future. For this, I am eternally grateful.

Unfortunately, when there was so many uncertainties surrounding the pandemic and concerns for everyone’s safety, I reluctantly decided to step away from the gym until things would somehow return to “normal.” Within a few months, I realized how much I sorely missed every aspect of RevFit, especially the staff and fellow members.

I returned in January 2021 and once again I was welcomed by the staff with the same warmth, sincerity, and humility that drew me to this wonderful place back in 2019. Joining this gym has and always will be one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Dedication, commitment, and hard work will help you to reach your goals, but having the right gym family by your side will help you to maintain and extend them further than you can ever imagine.

I’m forever grateful for the 1 day that I became short of breath crossing the street to check my mailbox. I felt disgusted with myself physically, at that time. I didn’t understand how & why this was happening to me, because I really thought I was physically active with exercising & making better food choices. This was a good start, but apparently not good enough for me. I realized that my exercise regime needed to be more intense. My food plan needed to be stricter. Above all though, motivation & commitment was a requirement I had to work on to succeed with my fitness journey. After reaching out to a member, I decided to join RevFit Gym on 04/22/2017. I lost 10 pounds prior to joining & 40 pounds under the direction of Candice & Sandra. These trainers taught me how to be consistent with motivation & commitment to myself.
My fitness journey consists of a healthier meal plan, along with a regular exercise program. I have become a gym addict. The hardest thing about exercise is to start doing it, but once you are doing it regularly, the hardest thing is to stop. Even when a pandemic is going on & being on the frontline in the medical field, I still show up & put in the work, so I can better my life. Why? Consistency + Motivation= Commitment

The History of HOLLYWOOD:
It all began in July 2015 when I walked into RevFit gym and met Crystal, her family, and her staff. This would become the beginning of my journey to become a healthier and fit individual. I immediately began training with Bubba and this transitioned into becoming their first senior men’s boot camp with an age range of 65 to 76 years young. My fellow boot camp buddies quickly became some of my closest friends. We leaned on one another to hold us accountable for our goals and enjoyed the camaraderie.
In 2016, I had surgery but was able to walk across the finish line with the RevFit family for the Camellia Crossing. I also completed the 5K Color Run in Carencro, LA with several of the RevFit staff and members. In 2017, I was able to participate in another Camellia Crossing 5K and run with my boot camp buddies. Through my journey from 2015-2019, I lost a total of 73 pounds. This transformation not only changed my physical appearance but also gave me a new lease on life.
As stated by Crystal, when I first walked into the gym I had big eyes and walked as slow as molasses on the treadmill. Now, I am an inspiration to many as I am told on a daily basis as I have continued to overcome medical challenges which has come to include cancer. This challenge may have halted my exercise regimen for a period of time, but it never halted my spirit and fight to live my life to the fullest!
My RevFit journey continues with the support of the staff and many members, but more importantly, the friendship that I have found with Roland. He and I coordinate our schedules to do our workouts and spin classes at the gym together, but we also have formed a bond that is irreplaceable outside of the gym. I have met many along the way and am grateful for the wonderful relationships that have been built as God has crossed my path with caring and loving individuals. My family has also become healthier and supports me being the RevFit birthday card coordinator as I enjoy making each person feel truly special on this day of the year!

July 14, 2017 at 3:45 AM!! I decided to make a change for myself. For years, I had a family member that had succeeded with RevFit and I was envious of her. She would tell me that there was a 3:45AM Bootcamp and I should come and check it out. I told her she was CRAZY and I would never get up in the middle of the night to workout, but she never gave up on me. I was 90 pounds overweight. I had been declined for life insurance TWICE. I was uncomfortable in my own skin and very prone to depression. I was on both blood pressure and cholesterol medication. I would scare my husband at night, because I would have episodes of apn ea from being so overweight. I was at my personal rock bottom.

On the morning of July 14, 2017 I woke up and was scared to death. I knew I would never be able to keep up. I threw up during my first Bootcamp. I left my first 2 spin classes after 10-15 minutes to go and sit in my car and cry. I was defeated by my own lack of ability, but I knew I needed to do this for me. I kept going back and slowly, but surely I got stronger. I had more stamina to get it done. I slowly but surely found myself again. As the weight came off, my self-confidence and self-worth came back. I was able to get off both my blood pressure and cholesterol medications. I was no longer the one having to be pushed to finish my workout, but I found myself pushing and encouraging others. Don’t get me wrong, I still get pushed, but these days it’s to push more weight or to move faster. The leaders at RevFit will never let you let yourself down.

These days, I guess I’m the one that is CRAZY. I have hit goal: twice. I have lost a total of 87 pounds and I look forward to waking up and challenging myself. It’s my get away, my sanity, & my anti-depressant. At RevFit, your family never lets you down. They never let you slack. They are always there to be a listening ear. I appreciate everyone that has helped me along the way and continue to help. I look forward to the future and continuing on my journey. I’d like to send a special thanks to Kristan for knowing what I need right when I need it. You, my friend, have an extraordinary ability to see people for what they can be.
